New IDShield Experience

We are excited to announce that we have made coverage enhancements and updated the experience of our IDShield benefit. Last month all currently enrolled employees were transitioned to this new experience.

IDShield’s new and improved mobile app and web-based portal experience make accessing the valuable services this benefit provides even more convenient for plan participants. These changes will ensure a seamless experience across our web-based member portal and mobile app and allow both platforms to be available in Spanish.

Here’s what’s new:

  • The Identity Fraud Protection Plan will now cover up to $3 million in related incident expenses.
  • Experian now provides our monthly credit score tracker data.
  • Experian now provides 1B monitoring. Our 3B monitoring will remain the same.
  • A new and improved IDShield mobile app and web-based portal
  • The IDShield mobile app and web-based portal will be available in Spanish.

These enhancements allow us to continue to offer best-in-class products to employer groups and maintain a competitive advantage in a rapidly evolving market. Current rates will not be impacted.

SHRM Article: Estate Planning Benefits Gain Momentum

October is National Estate Planning Awareness Month and serves as a reminder for individuals and families to create and maintain their estate plan. Legal protection complements employee’s life needs, both now and in the future and employer’s are taking this ened more serious than in years past. In a recent article published on SHRM.org, Dave MacLean, Vice President of Strategic Growth at LegalsShield said employer requests for proposal in legal benefits are up 10 percent year over year, “There’s a lot of indications that growth is happening.”

Wills are undoubtedly important, but people often put off creating them, MacLean said. Roughly 6 in 10 (59%) of Americans don’t have a will, according to data from LegalShield’s 2023 Estate Planning Survey released for Make-a-Will Month in August.

However, according to the July survey of 1,316 adults of those who don’t have a will the majority (58%) said they would be more likely to create one if their employer offered a legal service to assist them in doing so.

Having employers offer this benefit puts the item that’s on most people’s to-do lists top of mind for employees, just as offering 401(k)s give employees a reason to prepare for retirment.

Through estate planning benefits or services through a legal benefit, employees can reeive relevant advice and coordination services to they can prepare and coordinate their will and other planning documents. The benefits can be both employer- and employee-paid.

Are Your Clients’ Benefits Packages Prepared for Cyberattacks?

October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month and while an active month for identity theft criminals, it is also a month to reflect and plan for the year ahead. As employers focus on security training programs for their employees, implementing an identity theft protection plan should also be included in their cybersecurity strategy.

IDShield provides 360-degree monitoring and full-service restoration services. Plan participants receive identity, credit and financial account monitoring as well as reputation management, device and online privacy services. In addition, IDShield also provides educational videos and content that can be shared throughout the plan year to help educate all employees on how they can best protect their identity and online privacy.

LegalShield is still implementing new groups for a 1/1/2024 effective date. New groups can be implemented in as little as 2-3 weeks.
