Contactless Legal Services Are Here to Stay

As a society, we all learned important lessons about technology, work, relationships, and health amid the coronavirus pandemic, but for millions of individuals and families two specific takeaways became more significant than ever. The pandemic has reshaped much of everyday life activity, including how employees work and handle their personal affairs. Most companies have decided against returning to 100% in-person communications. Consumers expect to maintain the option to receive service in person or from the convenience of their own homes.

LegalShield is working diligently to continue the successful execution of the contactless service delivery model we introduced nearly a half-century ago and will continue to enhance the member experience and overall satisfaction – not only as the result of the legal matter but throughout the entire service experience.

These increases in services reflect the mindset and needs of employees during this pandemic. Read full article here.

Tips for Protecting Yourself Against Rising Cybercrime

In a Forbes.com article featuring Jeff Bell, the CEO of LegalShield, discusses the risk of identity theft and how LegalShield’s services “protect and empower people through legal plans and privacy management solutions”. Given this year’s uncertainty and shift in digital habits, one must ask: Are we at greater risk for identity theft? The broad answer is yes. October is Cybersecurity Awareness Month and serves as an important reminder to the dangers facing consumers and businesses during this unprecedented time.

In 2020, the FBI received a record number of cybercrime complaints in the U.S.: 791,790. That figure marks a 69% increase from 2019, resulting in total reported losses of $4.2 billion. The top three reported crimes were phishing scams, non-payment/non-delivery scams and extortion.

Cybercriminals often rely on human error and target employees with phishing schemes and other clever tactics. With more employees working from home than ever before, it is imperative for companies and employees to be vigilant. An identity theft protection plan can not only provide peace of mind; it can also be a proactive measure in the war against cybercriminals.
